- February 1940
Queensland, Australia - Occupation
- Biomedical engineer and Electrical engineer
Summary
Gerald Shannon, BE PhD MIEAust, took an early leading role in the development of electrical feedback to aid biomechanical protheses in the 1970s. He developed one of the first artificial hands that provided sensory feedback and control, using a feedback electrode and a control electrode.
Later his research focus was on control systems and robotics, publishing work on manual control systems, robotic draglines for mining, and dynamic weighing systems.
