It is a living archive that is constantly being developed and added to. Privacy and Information Security

As a rule, the encyclopedia project team utlise public information sources to compile entries and provides citations for those sources. Members of the community also volunteer information. The general rule is that personal information gathered during these processes will not be released to other organisations, except in response to legal requirements such as supoena, and private information regarding an individual will not be disclosed without the individual's consent, except where the third party is directly acting as our agent. All data and working files are stored off line and security protected.

Take Down Policy

If, in the unsual circumstance, it is requested that an entry or part of an entry be removed from the web resource, this will be done within a reasonable period following the request. The request will be evaluated with the result that the information will remain removed with a notice indicating that this has happened, or the information or an edited version of such will be reinstated.

The Encyclopedia of Australian Science and Innovation uses the Online Heritage Resource Manager (OHRM), a relational data curation and web publication system developed by the eScholarship Research Centre and its predecessors at the University of Melbourne 1999-2020. The OHRM has been maintained by Gavan McCarthy since 2020.
