Summary

The Royal Society of South Australia has published its journal, under variant titles, since 1880 in continuation of the journal of its predecessor, the Adelaide Philosophical Society. Reflected in the variant titles was the inclusion of the report and proceedings of the Society. From 2004 the Transactions incorporated the Records of the South Australian Museum, which is recognised in the subtitle. The focus of the Transactions is natural history in its broadest sense related to Australasia, particularly South Australia. Papers on anthropology, linguistics and history are also included. In recent years the Transactions have been published by a commercial publisher on behalf of the Society.
