Laric Hawkins was a lecturer in the School of Mining Engineering and Applied Geology 1958-1961, Senior Lecturer in Geophysics 1961-1969 and Associate Professor 1969-1985 at the University of New South Wales. He played a prominent role in the foundation of the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
