Summary

The Farrer Memorial Medal is awarded annually by the Research Scholarship Fund of the Farrer Memorial Trust and recognises distinguished service to agricultural science in Australia in the fields of research, education or administration. Since 1936 the Trust has awarded the Medal, recipients delivering the annual Farrer Memorial Oration. The Trust operates under the aegis of the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (formerly the Department of Agriculture), which publishes the orations delivered by the recipients. William Farrer is renowned for his development of rust-resistant strains of wheat.

Details

The Medal was not awarded 1939 - 1942 and 1945.
