Summary

John Kirkegaard is a highly regarded agricultural scientist who has made major contributions towards improving agricultural productivity. He has invented novel crop management programs which can be integrated readily into existing farming systems, and which greatly increase the effectiveness with which crops use water and nutrients. In 2016 Kirkegaard was appointed Chief Research Scientist with CSIRO Agriculture.
