Summary

Rod Chevis was a veterinarian whose interests focused on internal parasites and the development of treatments. He concentrated on sheep and cattle, but his research extended to parasites of goats, horses, pets, dolphins and snakes. For 20 years Chevis was a research manager with chemical companies, developing their facilities to world standard. In 1981 he became Director of Animal Disease Control for the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, and later a research scientist at the Department's Glenfield Veterinary Research Station. When this facility closed in 1990, he established his own consultancy. For nearly 20 years, he worked with companies active in the animal health market, both multinationals and small companies, with R&D advice and the registration of their products.
