Summary

The Walter Boas Medal has been awarded annually by the Australian Institute of Physics since 1984. It recognises excellence in research in physics in Australia, and is awarded for work undertaken in the five years prior to the date of the award. The Medal commemorates Walter Boas, Chief of the CSIRO Division of Tribophysics from 1949 to 1969 and foundation Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics.
