Summary

In 1998 the name of the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, Fisheries and Forestry (1996 - 1998) was shortened to create the Department of Primary Industries (II). The new Department of Primary Industries held responsibilities in several areas ranging from agriculture, fisheries, fibre production, and veterinary science. In 2004 the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (II) became the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries (2004 - 2009).
