Summary
Clive Minton is a businessman whose major hobby is waders. His expeditions to Broome helped to discover the significance of Roebuck Bay as a site where hundreds of thousands of migratory waders entered and departed from Australia each year. This contributed to the setting up of Broome Bird Observatory by the Royal Australasian Ornithologists' Union in 1988, the establishment of the Asian Wetland Bureau and the recognition of the East Asian Flyway through China to Siberia, resulting in the Japan-Australia Migratory Birds Agreement and the China-Australia Migratory Birds Agreement.
