Summary
The A.W.R.A. is a non profit service and research organisation, set up by leaders in Australian industry and the Council of eighteen members represents a cross-section of the major engineering organisations and academic interests throughout Australia.
The objects of the A.W.R.A. are concerned with welding and its formation will be an important step for Australian secondary industry. Research will be undertaken on local welding problems and a service centre will provide vital engineering knowledge in this field.
The first Chairman, was Sir William Hudson, Commissioner of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority.
It published a Journal from June 1972 (No.1) to June 1987 (No.18) also titled 'Australian Welding Research Association technical note'.
