Summary

Peter Kelly was an industrial chemist who worked for most of his career for Brella Pty Ltd. In his leisure time he was an enthusiastic entomologist, being particularly paropsine beetles (family Coleoptera). He was involved in the revival of the Entomological Society of Victoria in 1961 and served two terms as President of the Society. His service to the Society was acknowledged with the presentation of the Le Souef Memorial Award. In 1983 he donated by collection, together with his photographs, to the Australian National Insect Collection. Kelly was also a keen member of the Field Naturalists' Club of Victoria, being librarian for many years and President from 1973 to 1976.
