Summary

The Australian Society for Biochemical and Molecular Biology "is devoted to promoting research, new developments and education in biochemistry and molecular biology" (from https://www.asbmb.org.au). Its functions include the provision of advice to government, industrial and educational organisations on matters relating to research and teaching in biochemistry and molecular biology; coordinating the biennial national scientific conference ComBio in conjunction with other societies; and the publication of Australian biochemistry which is issued three time each year. The Society recognises excellence in the field by awarding a number of medals and prizes, including the Lemberg Medal and Oration and the Research Medal.
