Summary

The Department of Parks, Wildlife and Heritage (1989 - 1993) was home to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (1828 - ), Inland Fisheries Commission (1959 - 1999), the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council (1971 - ) and the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (1987 - ). According to the State Archives of Tasmania in '1993 the Department of Parks, Wildlife and Heritage (1989 - 1993) was amalgamated with the Department of Environment and Planning [(1989 - 1993)] to create the Department of Environment and Land Management' (1993 - 1998).
