Summary

The Department of Health Services (1956 - 1989) took over responsibility for administration, regulation and control of health services in Tasmania when the Department of Public Health (1904 - 1956) was abolished. The Department of Health Services was itself replaced in 1989 by the Department of Health [I] (1989 - 1993).
