Summary

The Department of Health was established in 2004 and took over the remaining medical and health roles within the Department of Human Services (1997 - 2004). In 2008 the South Australian Health Commission became the Health Performance Council. The Health Performance Council sat within the Department of Health (2004 - 2012). In 2012 the Department of Health (2004 - 2012) became the Department of Health and Ageing when it absorbed the Office of Ageing (1995 - ) which had previously sat within the Department for Families and Communities (2004 - 2011).
