Summary

Queensland Health was established in 2012 and regulates the provision of health services in Queensland. In 2011 new legislation was brought in that significantly shifted the role of the Queensland government in health, this legislation saw responsibility for the delivery of public health services transferred to statutory authorities rather than Queensland government departments themselves. In 2012 the Queensland Department of Health (1963 - 2012) was renamed Queensland Health (2012 - ).
