Summary

Ron Praite was noted for his committed service to the Geographical Society of South Australia over more than thirty years, serving in many committee positions including that of Vice President in 1976, and being granted Honorary Life Membership in 1994. Among his publications was Place names of South Australia (1970) which he compiled with J. C. Tolley. Praite was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2000 for his services to his local community.
