Summary

Ernest McKie was an amateur botanist who had an extensive knowledge of eucalypts and native grasses of the New England region of New South Wales. He also took an active interest in the agriculture of the area. McKie was a member of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science, the Linnean Society of New South Wales, the Royal Society of New South Wales and the Royal Australian Historical Society. He was the co-author of several Eucalyptus species.
