Summary
Alfred Thomas wrote Tasmanian Woods for the Tasmanian Forestry Department in 1933. By 1937 he was working for CSIR Division of Forest Products, where in 1939 he and Ian Langlands (qv) wrote Handbook of Structural Timber Design that became a standard reference work and ran to several editions.
