Summary

Lysaght Bros. & Co. Pty Ltd, wire netting works, was established in Newcastle during the 1880s. In 1929 BHP bought out 75% of the company and then gained full ownership in 1957. In 1959 BHP rolled Lysaght Bros., and several other BHP companies into a new firm called Australian Wire Industries Pty Ltd. This eventually became known as BHP Coated Products.
