Summary

Vickers Commonwealth Steel Co. Ltd. came into being in 1923, after Vickers Ltd. of England became associated with the Commonwealth Steel Products Company Ltd. In the 1930s BHP began acquiring shares in the company. A 1935 reconstruction of the company resulted in a name change, becoming the Commonwealth Steel Company Ltd.
