Summary

The Government Aircraft Factories were established in January 1939, at Fisherman's Bend. The Factories designed, developed, produced and marked aircraft for both Australian and international markets. They were abolished in October 1987, replaced by Aerospace Technologies of Australia Pty Ltd.
