Abstract

This paper deals with the design of the main bridge and approaches and the supervision of the contract for the construction of the Story Bridge over the Brisbane River, Brisbane, Queensland. The main span, 924 ft., is the second longest in Australia, a 60 ft. roadway and two 10 ft. footways are provided, and the estimated cost of the work is £1,600,000.
