Read before the Melbourne Division, 30th April, 1940, and also before the Brisbane Division on 8th May, 1940, and the Sydney Division on 9th May, 1940.

Abstract

The purpose of the paper was to discuss the "Handbook of Structural Timber Design" published by the Forest Products Division of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and intended to provide engineers with the basic information necessary for the design of timber structures.
