Summary
The Peter Goldacre Medal has been awarded (usually) annually since 1965 by the Australian Society of Plant Physiologists (ASPP) and its successor, the Australian Society of Plant Scientists. Goldacre, a foundation member of ASPP, was a highly-regarded researcher who studied the biochemistry of plant hormone action with the CSIR/O Division of Plant Industry before his death at the age of 34. The Medal was established as a lasting tribute to his contributions in plant physiology, and as an encouragement to young researchers within ten years of completing their PhD.
