Summary

The Irrigation and Water Supply Sub-Department, under the Lands Department, was created on 15 February 1932, with the Lands Administration Board constituted as the Commissioner of Irrigation and Water Supply. In 1942, during WWII, town supply and sewerage work was transferred to the Department of Local Government, leaving the Department to concentrate on its other operations.
