Summary

The S. W. Carey Medal has been presented in alternate years since 1992 by the Geological Society of Australia. It recognises a person distinguished in the field of tectonics. Samuel W. Carey was Professor of Geology at the University of Tasmania between 1946 and 1976, and President of the Society from 1977 to 1978.
