Abstract

A sample of weather data for input to thermal models has been selected by choosing, for each month, a month of data which most nearly matches all the data available for that month. As several variables are involved, the closeness of fit is based on an average estimate of the difference between the sample and the total data. However, since dry bulb temperature is considered to affect the model more than other variables, its difference was used to select a 'short list' of possible samples and thus ensure a good sample for this variable. The method has been applied to produce a representative year of coincident weather data for Brisbane.
