- Abstract
A description of the new sluice gates in the Torrens weir, Adelaide, is contained in this paper. The original weir was responsible for the deposition of silt in the wide stretch of the river upstream, and the sluice gates were built to reduce this silting.
The design and construction of the gates and the necessary energy dissipater, stilling pool, and downstream protection works, are described.
