Abstract

The application of computers to the control of steelmaking processes has achieved prominence since the introduction of the basic oxygen furnaces. Problems associated with computer control of these processes are discussed together with a review of the types of system at present being employed. Details are also given of the developmental work being carried out on oxygen furnace control in Australia.
