Dr. W. Diesendorf, DrEng(Vienna) AMIEAust, is System Design Engineer, Electrical and Mechanical Division, Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority.
Mr. J. J. Hurley, MSc, was formerly Executive Engineer, System Design Branch, Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority, and is now Sub-station Engineer (330-kV Projects), Transmission Division, Electricity Commission of New South Wales.
Mr. J. Wilson, BE MIEAust, is Engineer for Electrical Development, Transmission Division, Electricity Commission of New South Wales.

Abstract

This paper discusses the transmission system in two parts: the basic design, (by Diesendorf and Hurley) and the development of the State interconnected network (by J Wilson).
