- Abstract
This paper describes briefly the more important radio aids to the navigation of aircraft in flight, and discusses their relative advantages particularly from the viewpoint of their use within Australia, and the design of communication systems for communicating between aircraft in flight and the ground, and between stations on the ground. Brief mention is made of radio services for airport control and weather broadcasting. The conclusion contains statistics relative to the development of air transport telecommunication services in the United States of America.
