- Abstract
The paper is a complete historical record of the development of the Iron and Steel Industry in Australia, and the progress of the industry in each State is traced in detail from the earliest known records to the present state of great industrial activity.
The second section of the paper deals with the supply of raw materials required in the industry, and their availability in the Commonwealth.
The method of mining iron ore from the Iron Monarch; South Australia, the source of 90% of the total ore produced at the present day, is the subject of special reference.
