- Description
This paper, No. 410, originated in the Tasmania Division of The Institution.
- Abstract
The general use of concrete for bridges has made the use of the slab deck common, and for many years engineers have been designing and constructing these decks without very definite knowledge.
The action of a slab in supporting concentrated loads has been the subject of much assumption in the past, and it is only within recent years that any analyses or practical tests have been carried out.
In this paper, the author places before readers such data as is at present available.
