Description

Retiring President's address by Associate Professor O. F. Blakey, ME MIEAust, to the twenty-sixth Annual General Meeting of The Institution of Engineers, Australia. (At Sydney, on 25th March, 1946.)

Abstract

This address raises two factors that are of importance to our Institution: The co-operation that was engendered amongst allies during the War should be continued, by forming a Council of the Reciprocating Institutions of the British Commonwealth, and this could help engender an improvement of the standing of our profession. The suggestion for a better marriage of scientific academic training with practical experience, in the development of our future Chartered Engineers.
