Abstract

This is the first instalment of a paper reviewing the work done to date within Australia in the field of aeronautical engineering training and research. The paper is divided into three sections:
I.-Historical;
II.-Aeronautical Engineering Training and Equipment and
III.-Aeronautical Research.
This instalment covers the first section and that part of the second section relating to the equipment within, and the training earned out at, the University of Melbourne.
