Abstract

In this portion of his article the author deals with proportioning of mixtures and with the manufacturing and placing of concrete. He makes a comparison of the well-known Fuller aggregate-grading curve with the curve evolved by Bolomey, a Swiss engineer. Further comparison is made also with a German curve for grading. Some general information is then given regarding European practice in the manufacture and placing of concrete.
