- Description
This paper, No.1682, originated in the Melbourne Division of The Institution and was submitted by the author on 14th May, 1962. . The author who was formerly Chief Hydraulic Engineer of the Commonwealth Department of Works, is practising in Melbourne as a Consulting Engineer.
- Abstract
The paper outlines the importance to Australia's development of the temporal variations of its surface water runoff and, from a study of river flow records, suggests how the extent of these variations of annual and seasonal flows in a considerable part of southern Australia is related to the magnitude of catchment rainfall and runoff. Such relationships may be used, when full records are not available, for preliminary estimates of water storage required.
