Biographical entry Tilley, J. E.
J. R. Duigan (qv) made the first sustained flights in an Australian-built machine at Mia Mia, Victoria, in 1910. Duigan was responsible for the construction of the airframe and the design of the engine, which was built by J.E. Tilley of Melbourne.
