Wheat Research Fellow, University of Tasmania 1963-65; Research Scientist, CSIRO Division of Entomology 1966-76; Professor of Genetics and Chairman, Department of Genetics, University of Melbourne 1976-81; Chief, CSIRO Division of Entomology 1981-95. Fellow, Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering 1983; Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1993.
