Summary

Douglas Highmoor (Doug) Forder spent much of his war service teaching meteorology as Chief Instructor at the RAAF Meteorological Training School in Melbourne. His keen interest in his trainees and commonsense approach to teaching started many a forecaster on a career in meteorology. All of his trainees thought highly of him as a dedicated teacher of a subject he had taken up only during the war. (Weather News, No. 248 March 1980 #3121.)
