Bertie Harcourt Moore was lecturer in chemistry and metallurgy at Kalgoorlie School of Mines from 1908, rising to become Director of Kalgoorlie, Norseman and Wiluna Schools of Mines 1941-45. He was responsible for establishing the metallurgical research laboratory and collaborated on research work on flotation of gold ores, which influenced the design of many treatment plants.
Born Christchurch, New Zealand, June 1880. Died Kalgoorlie, 6 January 1947. Educated University of Adelaide (ME, DSc). Officer in charge, School of Mines, Port Pirie, lecturer in chemistry and metallurgy, Kalgoorlie School of Mines 1908-31, Principal 1931-41, Director of Kalgoorlie, Norseman and Wiluna Schools of Mines 1941-45, Supervisor of Professional Training under the Commonwealth Reconstruction Training Scheme 1945-47.
