George Taubman established a paint and varnish works at St Peters in 1901 with his brother Nathaniel. In 1912 this became Taubman's Ltd.

Born 5 May 1862. Died 3 September 1938. Signwriter, importer and distributor of painters' and signwriters' supplies, set up paint and varnish works in 1901 with his brother Nathaniel (this became Taubman's Ltd in 1912), retired as managing director in 1916, but remained as chairman. President, Manly Bowling Club for many years.
