Percival Bayly was in charge of the Mines Department Laboratory in Melbourne from 1898-1919, when he moved to the Commonwealth Steel Products Company of Waratah, New South Wales to take charge of the chemical laboratories.
Born Adelaide, 1876? Died 22 March 1924. Educated Adelaide School of Mines (Associate Diploma in Metallurgy). Mines Department Laboratory, Melbourne 1898-1917, munition work, England 1917-19, head of the chemical laboratories, Commonwealth Steel Products Company of Waratah, New South Wales 1919-1924. Foundation member, University Chemical Society, Honorary Treasurer, Society of Chemical Industry of Victoria 1904-17, Fellow, Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland 1919.
