Summary
Arthur Rudolph Bailey opened a pharmacy in Melbourne in 1894 and became an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria. He also edited the "Australasian Journal of Pharmacy" from 1920.

Born Ballarat West, Victoria 21 August 1863. Died Malvern, 25 April 1938. Educated Ballarat College and Victorian College of Pharmacy (1890-94). Commercial photographer Ballarat, Melbourne and Charters Towers ca 1884-90; pharmacist, Malvern 1894-1938. President, Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria 1903-06, 1912-15, 1924-25, president, Pharmacy Board of Victoria 1919-23, 1929-30 and 1935-36, president, Australian Pharmaceutical conference 1913-23. Compiled "Digest of the new and more important features of the British pharmacopaeia - 1914" with Sidney Plowman.
