<abstract>The Antarctic Science Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that supports and funds world-class scientific research to enhance understanding and protection of the Antarctic, Southern Ocean, and Sub-Antarctic environments. Its purposes relate to providing information on these environments and related climate science , developing appropriate technologies, and promoting activities that improve public understanding of these regions. Research themes include: mitigating climate change; ice shelves, glaciers and sea ice; maintaining healthy oceans; Antarctic ecosystems; and protecting Antarctic wildlife.</abstract>
