The Newsletter (ISSN 1031-9204) of the Australian Academy of Science has been published since 1988, usually 11 times per year. It followed the Science report: the newsletter of the Australasian Academy of Science (ISSN 0159-5458) of which five issues were published 1980 - 1981. Since May 2021 the Newsletter has been produced in electronic form. It contains news about activities of the Academy and its Fellows, including conferences and other events, reports to government and statements on policy issues, and notice of forthcoming issues of Historical records of Australian science. Awards received by Fellows are reported in "Fellows update", as are obituaries of recently deceased Fellows. The Newsletter also includes items of interest to Fellows, such as meetings of other organisations and funding opportunities.
