Eligible candidates include graduates and undergraduates of the University, or graduates of other tertiary institutions whose degrees are recognised by the Faculty. Candidates must have spent not fewer than two semesters in study or research in a University laboratory. The Prize recognises research in the field of industrial chemistry undertaken in the past five years. Frederick S. Grimwade donated funds to the University to establish the Prize.
