Start Place Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia Professional Association Physiology Cell biology The Australia and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology (originally the Australian and New Zealand Society for Cell Biology) works to foster research, including in the Asia-Pacific region, through: holding meetings and disseminating information on the latest research trends and ideas; advocacy with government bodies; and presenting awards which recognise significant achievements in the field. The Society participates in the biennial COMBIO conference, the major biological sciences meeting in Australasia and held in conjunction with other academic Societies.

Awards presented by the Society include:
President's Medal: recognises outstanding contributions to the disciplines of cell and/or developmental biology by Australia and New Zealand researchers, with preference to those who have made major contributions to the disciplines represented by ANZSCDB;
Emerging Leader Award: to encourage and support emerging investigators who are at the stage of building independent careers in our disciplines in Australia and New Zealand;
ANZSCDB Early-Career Researcher Award: to encourage and support early-career researchers who are working towards independent research careers in Australia and New Zealand within the disciplines of cell and developmental biology.
